Hiyd.ai — Redesigning a Wearable's Digital Presence

Transforming a simple WordPress site into a dynamic product launch experience.

Overview

When Hiyd.ai reached out, their WordPress site felt too basic for a product positioned at the intersection of health and technology. They were preparing for launch and wanted a web experience that matched the sophistication of their wearable. As the lead UI/UX designer, I had full creative freedom to reimagine how the product should be presented and how users would experience it online.

The Challenge

The original site had a few familiar problems: oversized sections, inconsistent flow, and no clear story tying the product together. The layout didn't communicate the product's value — it looked more like a placeholder than a launchpad. My goal was to make the product stand out, both visually and emotionally, while keeping the experience intuitive and polished.

Exploring Direction

I started by asking:

Drawing from sleek fitness brands like Oura and Whoop, I introduced motion, subtle interactions, and visual rhythm to guide attention. A dark, high-contrast palette replaced the flat white backdrop, giving the hardware an elegant stage presence. Typography became central to the brand's tone — clean and confident without losing warmth.

Process & Collaboration

Throughout the project, I worked closely with the client to identify which parts of the site told their story best. I compiled a design document outlining improvements: scaling the logo for balance, adding hover states to CTAs, aligning sections for consistency, and incorporating animations to create a sense of movement.

I also integrated AI-assisted exploration and Figma Make into my workflow. ChatGPT helped me brainstorm layout variations and refine copy, while Figma Make allowed me to quickly prototype and test mobile versions. This combination helped me iterate faster and think beyond standard web structures.

Outcome

The redesign transformed the site into a cohesive, engaging experience that felt alive. The Hiyd team loved how the new interface finally reflected the quality of their product. The site is now in development as they prepare for launch.

Reflection

This project marked a turning point in how I approach design. It taught me to take initiative in ambiguous situations — to experiment, refine, and keep asking why. I learned how subtle motion and visual storytelling can elevate a product's perception, and how AI tools and rapid prototyping platforms like Figma Make can amplify creativity rather than replace it.
